At New York Comic Con last weekend a representative of The Safety and Security Council was able to score some Free DLC for a crossover augment from Deus Ex: Human Revolution to Team Fortress 2.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a dark futuristic video game about conspiracies and the corruption of power at all levels of society. A disturbing look at that a fast progressing corporate environment in stark juxtaposition to a rapidly declining society might look like. The story as described by the official site:
You play Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT specialist who’s been handpicked to oversee the defensive needs of one of America’s most experimental biotechnology firms. Your job is to safeguard company secrets, but when a black ops team breaks in and kills the very scientists you were hired to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes
Badly wounded during the attack, you have no choice but to become mechanically augmented and you soon find yourself chasing down leads all over the world, never knowing who you can trust. At a time when scientific advancements are turning athletes, soldiers and spies into super enhanced beings, someone is working very hard to ensure mankind’s evolution follows a particular path.
You need to discover where that path lies. Because when all is said and done, the decisions you take, and the choices you make, will be the only things that can change it.
Team Fortress is a FREE (Yup, no money) PC video game by Valve. A brief description from Wikipedia:
Team Fortress 2 is focused around two opposing teams competing for a principal objective. These teams, Reliable Excavation & Demolition (RED) and Builders League United (BLU), are meant to represent two holding corporations that between them secretly control every government on the planet. Players can choose to play as one of nine classes in these teams, each with his own unique strengths and weaknesses.
The two games have met in the middle with crossover content available to TF2 players. There are multiple weapons and cosmetic items available to players, including The Purity Fist as pictured on the Heavy to the left on the wiki.teamfortress.com page.
The page goes on to say:
The Purity Fist is a miscellaneous item for the Heavy. It is a heavily-augmented biomechanical limb that replaces the Heavy’s left arm, but makes no change to the melee damage dealt.
It was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-purchased Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Steam before August 26, 2011 and to attendees of the Square Enix booth at PAX Prime 2011.
So, if you missed you chance to get one via Deus Ex of Pax Prime, we’ve got some. Stay Tuned to the ApocalypticLife Twitter feed to find out how to score.
